In the event that there is a small chip or crack in the powder coating, painting over the coating is possible. Before choosing this option, it is important to evaluate the condition of the powder coated surface and the condition of the paint you are working with. Is there one chip, or multiple? Does the paint you chose offer some of the same protective features as the coating? If the powder coating is chipping and falling off the equipment in multiple areas, it may be advisable that you remove it and reapply new coating of your choosing. If the damage is minimal, make sure you select a durable, thick paint that can come close to matching the surface of the powder coating.
